CULINAIRE’S STORY

“When I assembled Catering by Culinaire’s business
plan in 2000, I expected one to two events per week.
Today we serve over 500 events a year.”

HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED!
Chef Barbara McKnight founded her catering business as a boutique firm with an emphasis on truly delicious food, as a reaction to the “frankly mediocre” cuisine produced by many of the major caterers.

From humble beginnings, housed in a church kitchen, Barbara has built a successful, high-end business by placing emphasis on quality, customer service, and client relationships.

Her company has expanded over the years to encompass all aspects of the catering experience, which include: award-winning menus,  top-level service, décor, and  linens.

Her business now occupies the magnificent Hofheinz House near downtown Houston, where CULINAIRE continues to evolve as a top-tier firm with seven-figure annual revenues. Culinaire caters over 500 functions per year, and is considered by many prominent social and business leaders to be one of Houston’s top caterers.

CULINAIRE lends its support to numerous charites and non-profits including: Recipe for Success, Houston Children’s Charities, Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet, United Way, and March of Dimes, to name a few.
